A Child's Life Foundation is
the USA's support organization for
Social Development Campaign Nepal
(SDC-Nepal) -- both our organizations
are non-profit status 501(c)(3).
We cooperate to change the lives of
Nepalese people.
SDC was established in 1999 and has been
involved with empowering underprivileged
children for the last few years. It is
registered with the Government of Nepal
and affiliated with the Social Welfare
Council under the Ministry of Women,
Children and Social Welfare, Government

Children in Nepal
Do these Nepalese children see a
promising future for themselves?
A
Child's Life Foundation together
with our partner, SDC, have
chosen to work with child
laborers, because their
situation is one of the worst in
the world.
Nepal has 2.6 million child
laborers according to one
estimate by the International
Labor Organization (ILO).
Most of these children are
working as household workers.
Many are employed in brick
kilns, transport, mines,
factories and other extremely
risky businesses.
Smile
Nepal project is concentrating its
efforts on the children in the brick
kilns. The project plans to provide
the children with a formal school
education as per the curriculum of the
Government of Nepal. ...read

Supporting Young Women in Nepal:
The Bo M. Karlsson
Foundation (BMKF), a non-profit
organization awards scholarships to
universities and trade schools to
underprivileged young women in
Nepal.
BMKF strives to find candidates
whose access to systems of higher
education has been limited and who
otherwise would not be able to
attend. With an all-volunteer board
in the U.S. and volunteer advisors
in the U.S. and Nepal, the majority
of the donations raised goes
directly to providing women with all
the financial resources they will
need to be successful in their
educational pursuits.
The Foundation's goal is to work
individually with all the
recipients, giving them guidance and
encouragement so that they can
complete their educational programs
and become self-reliant, confident
and productive citizens in their own
country.
